Forget 'Crazytown' - Trump is turning Washington DC into a 'real s--thole'

New Inside Book: Trump is Ignorant, White House Dysfunctional

The book will go on sale September 11.

This is so much worse.

The president's tweet came hours after excerpts from the Watergate reporter's book, "Fear: Trump in the White House", were released to the public.

The book describes how Dowd reportedly set up a practice session for Trump and told the president, "Don't testify".

Trump said the US was being played for "suckers".

'Mattis was particularly exasperated and alarmed, telling close associates that the president acted like - and had the understanding of - 'a fifth- or sixth-grader, " Woodward writes.

Mr Trump's former lawyer John Dowd conducted a mock interview with Mr Trump to convince him that he would commit perjury if he agreed to talk to Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is leading the Russian Federation investigation, the book says. "He's gone off the rails", Kelly was quoted in the book as saying. Kelly is quoted by Woodward repeating that sentiment, saying, "we're in crazytown....this is the worst job I've ever had". This is the worst job I've ever had, ' he supposedly said during one meeting. This is Trump's right hand man, the hand of the king.

"I never spoke to him". Got to protect the country."Cohn was not alone". "I probably would have preferred to speak to him, but maybe not". Responding Tuesday, Kelly called that account "not true".

But anyone who still thinks that's some public facade and that the POTUS is playing "three-dimensional chess" should take a look at how he treats those on his team.

Senate Foreign Relations Chairman Bob Corker sharply criticized President Donald Trump's demeaning comments about Attorney General Jeff Sessions, while bluntly warning that Trump would turn the United States into an authoritarian regime like Venezuela "if left to his own accord". Priebus received the nickname "little rat".

"Rudy, you're a baby".

You don't need a strategy to kill people.

In a statement on Tuesday, Mr Mattis dismissed the book as "a uniquely Washington brand of literature" and said the contemptuous words about Mr Trump attributed to him "were never uttered by me or in my presence". "Now, people who are not under investigation by a special counsel might want to know more about Brett Kavanaugh, but they can't", he explained, because Republicans are blocking the release of hundreds of thousands of pages of documents.

Or he did at one time anyway.

Mr Woodward writes that Mr Trump was presiding over "a nervous breakdown of the executive power of the most powerful country in the world". Dowd's argument was stark: "There's no way you can get through these".

Most shockingly, along with still-current-as-of-this-writing lawyer Jay Sekulow, Dowd actually told Mueller all of this and even re-enacted some of the mock interview for him. "It's just made up", he told the Daily Caller. Dowd believed the president had nothing to hide but, according to Woodward, thought he was a "liar" and not capable of giving factual answers.

One of the Trumpiest moments comes from after the book itself was finished.

The book quotes USA defence secretary Jim Mattis as calling Trump a fifth-grader.

Woodward claims that Trump once asked Mattis why the USA backs South Korea militarily and financially, prompting the defense secretary to tell close associates afterward that Trump had the understanding of a fifth or sixth grader. "Secretaries of defense don't always get to choose the president they work for", Mattis allegedly said in another instance. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), among others. "And I heard - I did hear from Lindsey, but I'm just hearing about it".

"I'm just hearing about it".

He can't even help contradicting himself in a single sentence.
