Democrats send federal investigators ‘information’ on Supreme Court nominee Kavanaugh

Suddenly The Left Loves Selectively Edited Videos

Several news reports said Rep. Anna Eshoo, California Democrat, originally received the decades-old information concerning Judge Kavanaugh and turned it over to Ms. Feinstein.

Today it was reported that California Senator Dianne Feinstein has turned over a letter to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, concerning Trump's Supreme Court Nominee.

Kavanaugh wrote that he assumed the man who approached him "and touched my arm" during a break at the Senate Judiciary Committee proceedings had been one of the many protesters in the hearing room.

The Times story says Feinstein was made aware of this information during the summer, which raises the question of why she waited until Wednesday to share it with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Meanwhile, Senate Republicans are in the dark, including Committee Chairman Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), who said Thursday he didn't have any information about the letter that hadn't already been reported.

New documents released ahead of Thursday's hearing included Kavanaugh's 263-page written response to questions from senators, along with dozens of files from the judge's work in the George W. Bush White House that had been available to senators only on a "committee confidential basis". None of this is actually likely to stop Kavanaugh's confirmation-and the Senate could still vote to approve Kavanaugh in the lame-duck post-election session, while the Republican majority holds-but the Democrats could make it a campaign issue to drive turnout. Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee have requested to view the document, but Feinstein has refused to give her colleagues access.

"Sen. Grassley is aware of Senator Feinstein's referral", Grassley's communications director Taylor Foy said in a statement.

Democrats are fighting Kavanaugh's nomination and decrying the process that Republicans used to compile his government records for review. Sen.

President Donald Trump's nominee for the court is the first with a lengthy email trail.

Additionally, it is being reported that Attorney Debra Katz is representing the woman who is the subject of this email. "She claimed Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer was launching an '11th hour attempt to delay" the confirmation. At this time, he has not seen the letter in question, and is respecting the request for confidentiality. But, she said, "Not until the eve of his confirmation has Sen. Feinstein or anyone raised the specter of new "information" about Kavanaugh. Most likely to influence the moderate Democrats' vote on Kavanaugh is the possible fate of the Affordable Care Act, particularly as a lawsuit challenging its protections for pre-existing conditions winds its way through the courts.

The flood of new documents comes as the Judiciary Committee is set to meet Thursday to consider Kavanaugh's confirmation, a vote that is expected to take place later this month.
